Ginger Mint Lemonade

Refreshing!
Ginger, lemon and mint are all excellent for gastrointestinal health.
Ginger is also an antioxidant. Lemon is another great antioxidant full of phytonutrients and is wonderful as a full body cleanser. Mint is full of vit c and a and makes a good stomach and nerve relaxer.
So make a big pitcher of this lemonade and drink up to your health!

1 1/2c ginger juice
1/2c fresh squeezed lemon juice
10c water
1/2c organic cane sugar or agave to taste
handful of mint

To make ginger juice:
Blend up about 2, 4 inch thumb sized pieces of ginger with 2c of water. The amount I used is in the picture above. Then strain through a sieve or cheese cloth.

To make lemonade:
Mix all ingredients together except mint. When ready to serve, muddle mint into lemonade and mix.
Serve over ice and enjoy!

  2. I love ginger lemonade but this year I discovered, when I was on my honeymoon in Vienna, that sometimes it is served warm - but I wasn't brave;curious enough to try

  3. JL, it's super easy! I used to do this whole thing where I would cook the ginger and then strain it. This is an easier and healthier way to do it :)

  4. Olga, when I'm feeling under the weather, I have it warm and toss in a couple cloves of garlic as well. It works wonders on sore throats and colds.
