Euphoria Loves Rawvolution, Santa Monica, Ca

Euphoria Loves Rawvolution is Matt Amsden and his wife Janabai's Raw Food Cafe. Matt Amsden is the author of RAWvolution, Gourmet Living Cuisine and is one of the world's premier raw chefs.

I have been wanting to visit Rawvolution Cafe for awhile now. Seriously, it's been years that I have been longing to get over there, but I really don't like driving when I don't have to, and Santa Monica is just not usually somewhere I go. I considered ordering The Box to be delivered to my home, but decided against it. What I really wanted, was to visit the cafe, so I could experience the atmosphere and food together.

I'm a doula/placenta encapsulationist, and had a Mama give birth at a hospital in Santa Monica. On my way home from the hospital, I decided to finally make my way over to Rawvolution. Yay!

I loved the place from the moment I walked in. The people working there were so welcoming and helpful. I took my time perusing the menu and asked a few questions about it as well. I ordered to go and also got a cookie dough ball(made there) and bottle of Mate Mojito (from the fridge)to enjoy while I waited. I wandered around looking at some products they had for sale and then took a seat on a big comfy couch that was calling my name. The cookie dough ball was simple and good.

My order didn't take too long considering it was all fresh, raw and made to order.
Here's what I got:

Tiramisu Cheesecake- It was super delicious and decadent! I used to love tiramisu, but hated the way I felt after eating it. This raw cheesecake version had all the tiramisu flavor with the added cheesecake bonus! It was quite rich, so we had some and saved some for later.
Babygirl loved it.
Mr. Crafty loved it.

Don't judge me, I ate a fork full of it in the car before I got home and took a picture :)

Big Matt with Cheese- A burger pattie on onion bread with all the fixins, including a thousand island type sauce. Loved it! It was juicy and the bread had a crunch to it that went well with the burger. Would definitely order again!
Babygirl loved the burger pattie and sauce best.
Mr. Crafty liked it, but he's not in love with raw onion bread.

Pizza- They have several pizzas and I forget which one this is. I do know it's deep dish style, which means onion bread on top of almond crust. This was okay, but I would not order again. I've made more raw pizza-ish pizza's at home. This was more of a salad on a cracker. It was also served on a collard green, which made it hard to bite through all the layers. I actually wound up deconstructing it and making a collard wrap out of it.
Babygirl just liked eating the olives.
Mr. Crafty didn't care for it.

Coconut Jerky with Cashew Mayo Dipping Sauce- Strips of coconut marinated in a curry sauce and then dehydrated. It was very good! Great texture with a lot of flavor and the dipping sauce went well with it. We have decided to make these at home for sure.
Babygirl couldn't really chew the jerky, but enjoyed dipping and licking the sauce off :)
Mr. Crafty liked and wants to make them at home.

I would definitely recommend this place and I hope to get back there someday!
